Established by Dr. Billy Criswell in 1962, Criswell Clinic Family Dentistry serves the people of Van Buren and the surrounding area. Our friendly staff provides comprehensive and affordable dental services in a family-like atmosphere.
Dr. Criswell graduated from Van Buren High School with honors, Hendrix College with distinction and the University of Tennessee School of Dentistry in 1988 with honors. He immediately began practice at Criswell Clinic Family Dentistry following in the footsteps of his father, Dr. Billy Criswell. He provides general dentistry for both children and adults. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Arkansas State Dental Association, the Fort Smith Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Orthodontic Society. Dr. Criswell, along with his wife, Tamara, and four children reside in Van Buren. He practices at both our locations.
Dr. Hays was an honor graduate of Van Buren High School. He went on to graduate the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, and the Washington University School of Dentistry, St. Louis, MO. He attained his D.D.S. degree at age 22, one of the youngest graduates in school history. His senior year he received the CV Mosby Scholarship Award in Pedondontics. His oral and maxillofacial surgery residency was completed at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine where he received a Certificate in Advanced Graduate Studies and a Mayo Foundation Fellowship. He served on the Arkansas State Board of Dental Examiners for five years, two of those years as president. He served on the Multisite Regional Board of Examiners for 11 years. He is Advanced Cardiac Life Support certified and is board certified and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Hays provides oral surgery services at our Fayetteville Road office.
Dr. Thomas Sarna is a board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon who provides a full scope of services from simple removal of teeth to more advanced corrective surgery of the face and jaws. He has a particular interest in bone grafting and dental implant placement for rehabilitation of chewing function, especially in cases where few or no teeth remain.
Dr. Sarna went to dental school and was trained in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery specialty at the Illinois Medical District in Chicago, the world’s largest medical district. During his five years of residency, he gained the proficiency and confidence to perform basic and advanced oral and maxillofacial surgery as well as anesthesia and facial cosmetic treatments. He also practiced in a group in Chicago’s South Suburbs for 3.5 years. As an attending physician, he trained dental students and residents at Midwestern University and Loyola Medical Center.
In 2014, Dr. Sarna relocated with his family to Arkansas. Through his work with the largest orthodontic practice in North America, he has traveled around the state to remote clinics and developed a concierge style of oral surgery practice within the dental office. Dr. Sarna and his team are now focusing their attention on quality patient care in Western Arkansas. He is fully licensed in Arkansas as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon and holds hospital privileges at Washington Regional Medical Center and Northwest Hospitals.
His hobbies include: running, weightlifting and exploring the great outdoors around Arkansas with his family.
Dr. Douglas graduated from Alma High School, Quachita Baptist University, and upon graduation from the University of Tennessee School of Dentistry in 1977 joined Criswell Clinic Family Dentistry in the practice of general dentistry for both children and adults. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Arkansas State Dental Association, and the Fort Smith Dental Association. He lives in Alma with his wife, Charlotte, newly elected Arkansas State Representative. They are the parents of four grown children. Dr. Douglas practices at our Main Street office.
Dr. Pardo was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He attended the University of Arkansas for his undergraduate degree, and graduated from Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry in 2016. He then completed a General Practice Residency at UAMS in Little Rock. His residency focused on advanced procedures, including implants and periodontal surgery, and dental care for medically compromised patients. This program also allowed him to practice at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, where he gained experience in treating children with special needs in the clinic and operating room. He provides general dentistry for adults and children.
Dr. Pardo and his wife Bridgette reside in Fayetteville with their two dogs, Remi and Daisy. Dr. Pardo practices at both our locations.
